1. Terms and Conditions Introduction

Please review these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this website or visiting Shufflean Dember. These terms govern your access to, and use of, our independent restaurant and offline poker venue information website in Australia, as well as expectations for behaviour when you visit the physical venue.

By accessing or using this website, booking a reservation, or attending poker nights, Texas Hold'em tournaments, or dining experiences at our card room, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and any policies referenced within them.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, you should not use this website and should not attend the venue for offline poker or related events.

2. Definitions

For clarity throughout these Terms and Conditions:

  • "Venue" refers to the physical Shufflean Dember premises in Australia, which operate as an independent restaurant and offline poker destination with a dedicated card room and poker tables. The Venue is not an official casino, gambling operator, or financial institution.
  • "Website" refers to the online information site located at https://shuffleandember.com, including all pages such as About, Poker, Menu, Events, Card Room, How It Works, Audience, Reservations, FAQ, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Thank You.
  • "Guests" refers to any individuals who access or use the Website and/or visit the Venue for dining, offline poker, Texas Hold'em tournaments, poker nights, or any associated events or experiences.
  • "Events" refers to any organised activities promoted by the Venue, including poker nights, Texas Hold'em tournaments, beginner poker evenings, high roller-style table sessions, themed dining nights, team or social poker events, corporate gatherings, and private card room bookings.
  • "Poker Nights" refers to scheduled evenings or sessions in the card room that focus on live poker, including Texas Hold'em tournaments and casual chip-based play at poker tables.
  • "Buy-in" refers exclusively to chip-based entry for table participation or tournament inclusion. It does not represent or involve real-money gambling, betting, cash prizes, or financial returns.

These definitions apply equally to the singular and plural forms of the terms and are intended to clarify that Shufflean Dember is a hospitality-led restaurant and offline poker space, not a gambling operator.

3. Eligibility & Guest Conduct

Access to certain areas of the Venue, including the card room and poker tables, may be subject to age and identification requirements under applicable Australian laws and local regulations. Guests are responsible for ensuring they meet the required legal age to enter the Venue and participate in offline poker activities.

The Venue may request valid identification and reserves the right to refuse entry or participation in poker nights, Texas Hold'em tournaments, or high roller-style sessions where eligibility cannot be confirmed.

Guests must at all times:

  • Behave respectfully toward other guests, hosts, dealers, and staff in both the restaurant and the card room.
  • Maintain a welcoming, inclusive attitude and avoid discriminatory, aggressive, or disruptive conduct.
  • Follow all reasonable directions provided by staff regarding poker tables, chip handling, table etiquette, seating, and safety.
  • Refrain from bringing external activities to the Venue that resemble or introduce real-money gambling, betting, or cash-based wagering.

Any behaviour that undermines the safe, social, and respectful environment of the restaurant or card room may result in removal from the Venue and, if appropriate, refusal of future reservations or participation in poker nights and Texas Hold'em tournaments.

4. Offline Poker Experience

The Venue provides an offline poker experience that is centred on entertainment, hospitality, and social interaction. All live poker play at Shufflean Dember, including Texas Hold'em tournaments, beginner-friendly tables, casual poker nights, and high roller-style sessions, is designed to be chip-based and cash-free.

Key conditions of the offline poker experience include:

  • All table play uses chips for participation and structure only. Chips are not redeemable for cash, prizes, financial returns, or external value.
  • No real-money gambling, betting, or cash payouts are offered, permitted, or facilitated by the Venue or Website.
  • Buy-ins refer to structured chip-based entry for poker tables or Texas Hold'em tournaments and are subject to the specific rules and format of each Event.
  • Dealer-led games, tournament rounds, table rotations, and high roller-style formats are conducted in alignment with the Venue's published or communicated rules.
  • Guests are expected to treat offline poker as a form of social entertainment that values skill, focus, timing, and decision-making rather than financial gain.

The Venue may adjust table formats, chip structures, or tournament details to maintain a fair, enjoyable, and safe live poker environment. Guest participation in the card room signifies acceptance of the relevant Event rules, which may be provided on the Website, on-site signage, or by staff.

5. Dining & Beverage Service

Shufflean Dember operates as a restaurant and bar in addition to being a dedicated offline poker venue. Guests may enjoy starters, charcuterie, grilled dishes, premium plates, vegetarian options, desserts, signature cocktails, Australian wines, craft beer, and non-alcoholic drinks in the dining room, at the bar, or alongside poker tables where service is permitted.

The following terms apply to dining and beverage service:

  • Menu selections, pricing, and service hours may change at the Venue's discretion without prior notice.
  • Restaurant service may be paused or adjusted at peak times, during special poker nights, or for private card room bookings.
  • Guests are welcome to dine without joining offline poker activities and may reserve tables solely for restaurant experiences.
  • Responsible service of alcohol applies at all times and may affect continued participation at poker tables if required by law or Venue policy.

Information on current menu offerings can be found on the Menu page, noting that Website descriptions are indicative and may not always reflect real-time availability at the Venue.

6. Reservation Policy

Shufflean Dember offers reservations for dining tables, card room seating, offline poker nights, Texas Hold'em tournaments, and selected Events. Reservations are subject to availability and to any conditions notified at the time of booking.

By submitting a reservation request through the Reservations page or via any other approved channel, Guests agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information, including contact details, preferred dates, number of guests, and relevant dining or poker preferences.
  • Review confirmation details carefully and notify the Venue promptly of any changes, cancellations, or errors.
  • Comply with any minimum party size, time allocations, or arrival requirements communicated with the booking.

The Venue may request a confirmation, impose time limits on table use during busy periods, or decline or amend reservations where necessary to manage capacity in the restaurant and card room.

7. Event Participation

Participation in poker nights, Texas Hold'em tournaments, beginner evenings, team events, corporate sessions, and high roller-style premium table experiences may require advance registration, a chip-based buy-in, or a confirmed reservation.

Unless otherwise specified:

  • Guests must complete any required sign-up or registration process before an Event begins.
  • Buy-ins relate only to chip-based table participation and do not grant entitlement to cash prizes, financial payouts, or external value.
  • The Venue may apply age requirements, dress codes, conduct expectations, and capacity limits to specific Events for safety, comfort, and atmosphere.
  • Late arrival may limit or prevent participation in certain structured Texas Hold'em tournaments or scheduled poker nights.

Details of upcoming poker nights and Events can be found on the Events page, which may provide indicative dates, start times, chip structures, and any relevant buy-in or dress expectations.

8. Privacy & Data Protection

The Website collects and uses personal information only to the extent reasonably necessary to manage reservations, respond to enquiries, and operate the online presence of the Venue.

In particular:

  • Information provided via the Reservations or Contact Us forms may include your name, contact details, preferred dates, guest numbers, and specific dining or poker interests.
  • Guest data is stored securely and is not shared with unrelated external parties other than as required for service provision (such as booking systems) or legal compliance.
  • Reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied to help protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, or disclosure.

Further details on how personal information is collected, used, and managed are set out in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of these Terms and Conditions.

9. Intellectual Property

All content displayed on the Website, including but not limited to text, copy describing offline poker experiences, Texas Hold'em tournaments, cards and chips imagery, restaurant photography, logos, icons, visual design, layout, and stylistic elements, is owned by the Venue or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Guests may view, download, or print Website content for personal reference only in relation to planning visits, reservations, or understanding poker nights and restaurant services.

  • Copy, reproduce, adapt, or distribute Website content for commercial or public use.
  • Use branding, imagery, or descriptions in a way that suggests affiliation with a casino, gambling operator, or any other third party.

10. Prohibited Activities

Shufflean Dember is committed to providing a safe and hospitality-focused environment that centres on chip-based offline poker and dining. The following activities are strictly prohibited on the Website and at the Venue:

  • Conducting or promoting real-money gambling, betting, or any form of cash-based wagering.

  • Using chips, buy-ins, or table experiences as a substitute for money or as part of any external gambling scheme.
  • Using the Website or Venue to advertise or facilitate third-party gambling or financial services.

Any attempt to engage in prohibited activities may result in refusal of service, cancellation of reservations, removal from poker nights or Events, and, where appropriate, restriction of Website access or notification to relevant authorities.

11. Local Law & Venue Rules

Guests must comply with all applicable Australian laws, regulations, and council or licensing conditions that apply to hospitality venues, restaurants, and entertainment spaces, as well as any additional rules established by Shufflean Dember.

Without limitation, this includes:

  • Observing responsible service of alcohol requirements and any directions given by staff in this regard.
  • Respecting age restrictions for access to the card room, poker tables, and certain Events.
  • Following posted or communicated rules for chip handling, buy-in processes, Texas Hold'em tournament formats, table etiquette, and card room safety.

The Venue reserves the right to deny entry, restrict access to specific areas, or request that Guests leave the premises if they fail to follow local laws or Venue rules, or if their conduct negatively impacts other Guests' dining or offline poker experiences.

12. Updates & Acceptance of Terms

Shufflean Dember may update, revise, or replace these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in operations, local regulations, or the nature of our restaurant and offline poker offerings.
